Born among the hard peaks of the Caucasus Mountains, where wolves travel in packs and bears think little of helping themselves, this great dog was bred not for show, but for duty. While others sought comfort by the fire, the Caucasian Shepherd kept watch beneath the stars, standing between the flock and whatever danger came prowling out of the dark. Courage was its trade, loyalty its nature, and the mountains its home.
