The Dutch Shepherd comes from a time when a dog was expected to have an occupation and nobody was particularly interested in hearing about his work-life balance.
Lean, brindled, sharp-minded, and apparently born already knowing what needs doing, he herded livestock, watched the farm, and handled whatever other business arose while mankind was still discussing whose responsibility it was.
This design celebrates the Dutch Shepherd in his natural condition: alert, employed, and quietly disappointed in the rest of the department.
