The world has always had a habit of confusing size with importance, which is fortunate for the Lhasa Apso, because otherwise he would have very little left to prove.
The Strong Heart Edition celebrates this ancient Tibetan breed in all its compact magnificence; a small dog equipped with a luxurious coat, an independent mind, and enough confidence to suggest somebody accidentally put a considerably larger animal into a very convenient package.
For centuries, the Lhasa Apso was associated with Tibet's monasteries and important households, serving as an alert indoor sentinel in the high Himalayan country. It was serious work, although the Lhasa appears to have concluded that retirement from monastery duty did not include retirement from supervision.
